Reflecting on my tim spent at my PDS

The semester I spent at my PDS has left me with some great experiences inside the classroom. I formed great relationships with my mentor teacher and my students. Through my experience on building relationships with student, I believe that truly the best way to connect with them and create a bond is to listen to them and relate to them. In doing so, I think it creates a positive atmosphere and makes instructional time smoother and more engaging. I found, through the students' research project, that students like expressing their creative side and I think teachers can take advantage of that to get students more engage in assignments. Also, along those lines, students find great interest in using technologies like smart boards and computers to perform tasks instead of worksheets and bookwork. Can you incorporate this type of positive and exciting atmosphere inside the classroom and still get the same, if not better, results as compared to that of a classroom full of lectures and worksheets? What did you find during your PDS experience pertaining to active student involvement?

Blogging Possibilities

My blog will support mine and my fellow classmates experience as a teacher in the Benedum Collaborative Program by logging our thoughts, action, and wondering of the day in one nice organized place. Blogging can help connect me with my fellow classmates. teachers, and administrator with instant feed back and see if they are experiencing similar situations or thoughts. Having a blog will open up a new world in how we all can gain information through each other as we fulfill our goal to completing the Five-Year Program.
